German M40 SINGLE DECAL helmet size 66 or 68 WW2 Wehrmacht WWII S/D Picture(s) and Description:

GERMAN ARMY WW2 Wehrmacht M40 HELMET S/D SINGLE DECAL size 66 or 68 This is an M40 German helmet Single decal. Decal is about 80%. Very nice and clear Wehrmacht decal. Nothing on the other side. All pics available in Photobucket at: http://s1052.photobucket.com/albums/s441/ccfarm21/ This is a very large size, 66 or 68. I can’t see the inside skirt markings. They are there but not very visible to me. Originally brought home by 18th Airborne vet. I got it from his grandson. There is patena on the outside shell that makes it look very cool. Drawstring is 100% intact. Bolts that affix the liner band appear to be strong and in tact, doesn’t look like they were ever removed. The liner band looks like it has always been affixed to helmet too. Not sure about the liner and chinstrap, but I took photos of everything I could think of. I remember years ago I saw that the liner band was dated 1938, but I don’t see so well anymore with small stuff and I could not find it and don’t want to mess with this helmet. I have kept this helmet in an airtight sealed bag for storage and in a closet with no sunlight. May be a named item from a soldier named “Haus.” That is what is written on map case. Reserve is only set at $450, which is much lower than what this is worth, especially for the size. I am also selling complete harness, k98 Mauser bayonet, map case, and more that would all go together. I will sell everything together for $1200. The map case is named, “Haus”. The bayonet is about 95% intact and darn near in new issued condition. Most of the black is still on it. It is dated 1938. (Poncho NOT included) Based on the equipment (some being personal private made high quality leather,) I would guess this kit is from an officer. Ask questions, I will try to answer everything. Photos of decal by request. I am not an expert, so I will try to answer based on what I see and can find on this helmet and the gear. Check out my other items! Due to past fraud ebayer behavior, I accept NO returns under ANY circumstances. I have had them switch authentic items and return, break things, disassemble, yeah, the whole lot of bad behavior. I will take additional pics of specific parts for you, answer questions, etc. before auction is over. Once you buy it is your commitment to pay. Sorry for you honest people, but this stuff is rare and I wont be cheated any more.
