US WWII EARLY Fixed Bale M1 Helmet with St. Clair Liner – ETO Picture(s) and Description:

US

clever_penguin1 Store US Army early fixed bale M1 with 1942 St. Clair Liner Very nice and highly collectible early fixed bale shell with a rare St.Clair liner that dates to 1942. When St. Clair started production of the 2nd pattern liner in 1942, they briefly used a textured finish on the liners and quickly dropped it due to cost. This allows us to date this exceptionally rare item to within a month of production in early 1942. This set would have seen duty early on in the war, as they were prominent during the North African and Italian campaigns. The shell has a heat stamp of 259C, nice, early example of a fixed-bale M1 with excellent straps and early brass buckle and j-hook. Shell is overall in very good condition, with a couple of minor stains and some surface patina developed over time. Liner includes authentic OD green hardware United Carr marked chinstrap (both buckle and end rivet are stamped UC). Thank you for looking! Please note: Winning bidder is expected to pay within 24 hours of end of auction, or if invoicing is necessary, within same period of time after receiving final invoice. Please, if you can’t pay for the item, or don’t intend to at the end of the auction, I respectfully ask that you do not place bids. Thank you for your understanding. There’s too much of this going on recently. Also, because of the potential high-value, international sales will require full insurance and tracking for overseas shipments, which can only be done most economically via USPS Express Mail International. International shipping cost quoted already reflects this slightly higher pricing. Any discrepancy between actual costs and estimate will be corrected via invoice if necessary. Sorry, but I have no control over postal rates or Ebay’s buyer protection policies. Thank you!
