WWII American Front Seam M1 Helmet w/ Fixed Bales and Unit Mark Picture(s) and Description:

WWII

This is a nice front seam, fixed bale, M1 helmet with Firestone liner. The McCord M1 shell is an early example numbered 295C. The helmet still has much of the original factory paint and has never been repainted. The soldier carved "I I" into the exterior side of the helmet above the bale. I believe this to depict an Engineers' castle or signify II Corps. The liner came with the helmet and appears to be a period replacement. The liner is a Firestone and contains the last four digits of the soldier's serial on the webbing and on the exterior of the liner. Overall, a really interesting all original WWII combat worn M1 helmet. This item is for sale locally, and may be sold at any time. Interested in WWII helmets?
